Spotlight On Toy Mountain Campaign~ Event Kick Off Today via @CTVToronto.

Recently I caught the tail end of the evening news and heard the promo for CTV's Toy Mountain Campaign.  The kick-off for this annual event (and it's commercials) is one of my first signs that Christmas really is around the corner.  Though I am trying to get away from the consumer-frenzied Christmases that drive families to debt and despair, I can't bear the thought of a child not having at least one gift to look forward to on Christmas morning.  Why not pick up one toy, or more if you are able, and donate it to the nearest Toy Mountain drop-off point in your area.  I know my local mall already has their humongous donation bin set up near the Santa Village.

Here is an excerpt from a CTV Toronto Press Release:
CTV Toronto’s 16th Annual Toy Mountain campaign benefiting The Salvation Army has officially begun with more ways to give and connect with the campaign than ever before! Check this website often for a list of toy drop-off locations and to keep up on Toy Mountain events happening around the GTA! This year’s Toy Mountain toy goal is the biggest yet, with 150,000 toys needed for disadvantaged children living the GTA. Please donate a new, unwrapped toy to one of the official toy drop-off locations and help us reach our goal!
Bells will be ringing and carolers will be singing at this year’s Toy Mountain launch event at Young Dundas Square on Friday, Nov. 25 at 6 p.m. hosted by CTV Toronto Weather Anchor Tom Brown. CTV Toronto’s NEWS AT SIX broadcasts live from the event with special visits throughout the broadcast from members of the CTV Toronto team. Come sing-a-long with CTV Toronto and the The Salvation Army Brass Band and Carolers!
Ways to Connect with Toy Mountain Organizers:

Visit CTV Toronto online for the calender of Toy Mountain events that Tom Brown will be appearing, and to find other (non-event) drop-off locations. There is also a contact email address if you would like to have your school or community group collect new, unwrapped toys to donate to Toy Mountain.

Follow @ToyMountain and hashtag #Toymountain to keep up with twitter updates on this great campaign.  Not on "the twitter" as my hubby calls it, there is also a facebook page for Toy Mountain, LIKE them to keep current with status updates and news.
